As the story began to unravel, investigators traced the messages back to the United States and focused on Chris's business partner, Ed Shin. The episode follows the financial pressure surrounding their company, the fake travel story, and the forensic evidence that transformed a missing-person mystery into a murder case.
Chris's body has never been recovered.
